SAMOSA MASALA SANDWICH, recipe of how to make sandwich with leftover samosa masala

Step by step recipe of samosa masala sandwich –its an Indian version of sandwich where I have used potato masala which we use to make samosa as well. So the name is samosa masala sandwich.

If you follow my recipes then you will get to know that all of my recipes are a kind of innovative or you can say jugaad recipes. Jugaad, because I never plan for anything that what I am going to cook. Just I try to make something with ingredients which I have in my hand.

I always take in use the leftover food, and make them innovative and interesting. And I am glad that my family especially my hubby and daughter love to eat the food I cook for them.

Here I cooked this masala for my recipe of samosa masala parantha, so at the end I left with some masala so I did this. And trust me it came out so good that I could not stop me to write this recipe on my blog.

Ingredients for samosa masala sandwich –

  1. Bread -10-12 slices
  2. Butter -2 tbsp or as required
  3. Green chutney -1/4 cup
  4. Cucumber slices -10-12
  5. Onions slices -10
  6. Tomato slices -7-8

Ingredients for masala –

  1. Boiled potato -3 medium
  2. Boiled peas -1/2 cup
  3. Chopped onions -1/4 cup
  4. Garlic-ginger-green chili paste -1/2 tbsp
  5. Red chili powder -1 tsp
  6. Coriander powder -1 tsp
  7. Turmeric powder -1/2 tsp
  8. Dry mango powder -1 tsp
  9. Cumin seeds -1 tsp
  10. Black mustard seeds -1/2 tsp
  11. Crushed coriander seeds -1/2 tsp
  12. Fennel seeds -1 tsp
  13. Oil –as required
  14. Chopped coriander -1/2 cup
  15. Salt to taste

How to prepare the masala –

  1. Now heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan and temper it with cumin seeds and black mustard seeds.
  2. Add onions in it. Also add ginger-garlic-green chili paste into it.
  3. Mix well and sauté for 3-4 minutes until soften.
  4. Now add red chili powder, coriander and turmeric powder to it.
  5. Mix well and cook for 3-4 minutes.
  6. Now add the peas and mashed potatoes in it.
  7. Mix well and add salt, dry mango powder, fennel and crushed coriander seeds into it.
  8. Now add chopped coriander into it and mix. And keep aside

Now prepare the sandwiches –

  1. Take 4 slices of bread and apply the green chutney on two bread slices.
  2. Put the tomato slice on it.
  3. Now the cucumber and onion slices also put on it.
  4. Spread the masala on other 2 slices of bread.
  5. Put second slice one first to make the sandwich.
  6. Now apply butter on the bread and put on the base of sandwich maker.
  7. Cook it for 6-7 minutes or it is completely depends on the quality of your griller or sandwich maker.
  8. Cook until golden brown. Serve hot with sauce or green chutney with chai.

      Preparation of masala -

Gather all the ingredients you need.

Now heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan.

And temper it with cumin seeds and black mustard seeds.

Add onions in it.

Also add ginger-garlic-green chili paste into it.

Mix well.

And sauté for 3-4 minutes until soften.

Now add red chili powder, coriander and turmeric powder to it.

Mix well and cook for 3-4 minutes.

Now add the peas in the pan.

And mashed potatoes in it.

Mix well.

And add salt, dry mango powder, fennel and crushed coriander seeds into it.

Now add chopped coriander into it.

Mix all the masala together.

   Preparing the sandwiches –

Take 4 slices of bread

And apply the green chutney on two bread slices.

Put the tomato slice on it.

Now onion slices put on it

Now the cucumber slices

Spread the masala on other 2 slices of bread.

Put second slice one first to make the sandwich.

Now apply butter on the bread and put on the base of sandwich maker.

Cook it for 6-7 minutes or it is completely depends on the quality of your griller or sandwich maker.

Cook until golden brown.

Serve hot with sauce or green chutney with chai.
