Main ingredients –fresh corn, potato and corn starch

Step by step recipe of corn tikki – this recipe is a slight change to your taste buds, its different from the aloo tikki by just adding corn in it. This easy to make corn tikki recipe uses a spicy mixture of corn, potato, capsicum, green chilies, chopped coriander, onions and corn starch to bind the tikkies.

Since rainy season is going on and everyone is craving for some bhajiya or fritters. So for all who wants fritters but slightly different from the regular one, this is the good option for them.

Just add corn to your regular aloo tikki to make them tastier.

Or else you can also stuff some grated cheese or cheese cube in between your corn tikki, to make the corn tikkies little more interesting to have.

Ingredients for corn tikki -

  1. Fresh corns -2 large
  2. Boiled potato -4
  3. Chopped onions -1/2 cup
  4. Chopped capsicum (hari shimla mirch) -1/2 cup
  5. Chopped green chilies -1 tablespoon
  6. Chopped coriander -2 tablespoon
  7. Corn starch -2 tbsp for corn mixture and 1 tablespoon for coating batter
  8. Red chili powder -1 tablespoon
  9. Garam masala -1 tsp
  10. Dry mango powder -1 tsp
  11. All purpose flour -2 tbsp
  12. Semolina –as needed for the coating
  13. Salt to taste
  14. Oil for frying

How to make this corn tikki? –

  1. Grate the half of your corn and remove kernels of other half.
  2. Squeeze the excess water from the grated corn.
  3. Now gather all the tikki ingredients such as corn, boiled and mashed potato, onions, capsicum, coriander, green chilies, red chili powder, garam masala, dry mango powder, corn starch and salt.
  4. Mix them well to make the tikkis.
  5. Now take a small portion on your fingers and give it to the shape of tikki.
  6. Make all tikkies in the same way.
  7. Now take 1 tbsp of corn flour and 2 tbsp of all purpose flour in a mixing bowl.
  8. Add 5 tbsp of water into it and mix well.
  9. Put the tikki in it. And cover it with the batter.
  10. Now coat them with semolina.
  11. Coat all the tikkies with semolina. Put these tikkies into the refrigerator for ½ hour.
  12. Now heat enough oil to fry the tikkies.
  13. Put one by one your tikkies into the oil.
  14. Fry them until golden and crispy.
  15. Serve hot with ketchup or green chutney.

Step by step recipe with pictures –

Cut the corn to grate and remove the kernels.

Now grate 2 pieces of corn with a grater.

And remove the kernels of other 2

Now squeeze the grated corn to avoid the excess moisture. And put this grated corn in freeze.

Now take the corn kernels in a pressure cooker with ½ tsp of salt.

Add 1 cup of water into it and boil for about 6-7 whistles.

Remove the lid and check

Now gather all the ingredients. Such as corn, boiled and mashed potato, onions, capsicum, coriander, green chilies, red chili powder, garam masala, dry mango powder, corn starch and salt.

Mix them well to make the tikki.

Now take a small portion on your fingers and give it to the shape of tikki.

Make all tikkies in the same way.

Now take 1 tbsp of corn flour and 2 tbsp of all purpose flour in a mixing bowl.

Add 5 tbsp of water into it and mix well.

Put the tikki in it.

Cover it with the batter.

Now coat them with semolina.

Coat all the tikkies with semolina. Put these tikkies into the refrigerator for ½ hour.

Now heat enough oil to fry the tikkies.

Put one by one your tikkies into the oil.

May be 5-6 at a time.

Fry them until golden and crispy.

Serve hot with ketchup or green chutney.
