VEG MANCHURIAN with gravy, recipe of how to make veg manchurian at home

Step by step recipe of veg Manchurian in liquid - veg Manchurian is grated mixed vegetables deep fried into balls and then served in a special indo Chinese sauce.

Hey guys I think this is my third Chinese recipe, and yes I am still a learner of such kind of dishes.

But we all know that someday somehow we have to start it. I mean everyone have its first day of everything to start. And this is my first recipe of Manchurian.

No no no that doesn’t mean that I didn’t give it a start earlier but it was like 4-5 years back when I prepared the famous gobhi manchuri (yes it was yummy of course). But that time I was not on a log.

But now its all about blogging and preparing recipes and a busy life with 2 kids, hubby and in-laws.

But I love this at least my mind is busy. (as you know khali dimaag shaitan ka ghar, and I don’t want any shaitan in my mind)

Okkkk then leave all this blaaaa blaaa and lets proceed to the recipe -

Ingredients for veg Manchurian –

For veg balls –

  1. Carrot -1
  2. Cabbage -1 small piece
  3. Capsicum -1 small
  4. Green chilies –2
  5. All purpose flour/maida -2-3 tablespoon
  6. Corn flour/corn starch -2-3 tablespoon
  7. Black pepper powder –1/2 tsp
  8. Salt to taste
  9. Oil -1 teaspoon for ball and also for deep frying

For the sauce or liquid –

  1. Spring onion finely chopped -1/2 cup
  2. Finely chopped green chilies, garlic and ginger -1 tablespoon
  3. Soya sauce –1 tbsp
  4. Tomato ketchup -2 tbsp
  5. Red chili sauce -1 tbsp
  6. Vinegar -1 teaspoon
  7. Corn starch -1 tbsp
  8. Salt to taste
  9. Black pepper powder -1/2 tsp
  10. Oil -2 tbsp

How to make it –

Making of veg balls for veg Manchurian -

  1. First peel and grate the carrot, and also chop the cabbage, capsicum and green chilies.
  2. Transfer them in a mixing bowl along with all purpose flour, corn starch, oil, black pepper powder and salt.
  3. Mix them well to knead it, if you require more of all purpose flour then add it. And also add water if required it to you.
  4. Now heat enough oil in a kadai for deep frying.
  5. Mean while make the balls of the prepared mixture.
  6. Now on low to medium flame fry the bowls till golden brown.
  7. Remove them on kitchen towel and keep aside.

Making the gravy for veg Manchurian –

  1. Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a pan.
  2. Add chopped green chilies, garlic and ginger to it.
  3. Mix and sauté.
  4. Add the chopped spring onions into it.
  5. Sauté them slightly.
  6. Now add black pepper powder to it, mix well and cook for few seconds.
  7. Now add all the sauces and vinegar to it.
  8.  Add 2 cups of water to it.
  9. Let a boil to come.
  10. Now mix the corn starch with 2 tablespoon water.
  11. Add this into the kadai.
  12. Mix well and cook it.
  13. Let a boil to come and you will see that the gravy is thickening now.
  14. Now add the veg balls into it.
  15. Mix them well.
  16. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  17. Now the balls are completely covered with gravy.
  18. Serve hot with rice/noodles/or simply as veg Manchurian soup.

Now add all the sauces and vinegar to it.

Now mix the corn starch with 2 tablespoon water.

Add this into the kadai.

Mix well and cook it.

Let a boil to come and you will see that the gravy is thickening now.

Now add the veg balls into it.

Mix them well. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.

Now the balls are completely covered with gravy.

Serve hot with rice/noodles/or simply as veg Manchurian soup.
