Veg Spring rolls recipe

Main ingredients –all-purpose flour, wheat flour and vegetable masala

Step by step recipe of veg spring roll –a thin sheet which is made by using all purpose flour and wheat flour, and it is stuffed with a vegetable masala. And then is deep fried in oil.

Spring rolls should be smooth, light, and crisp-crackly skinned and stuffed with a nice spicy masala. As you know that I am vegetarian so I prepared it with vegetable masala, but you can enjoy these spring rolls with a stuffing of chicken or any other non-veg masala.

The filling is also light, full of crisp vegetables and you should be able to taste and distinguish every single ingredient in the filling.

Here I am sharing veg masala spring roll recipe with you, where I am using my all-purpose veg masala which I prepared for 3-4 recipes at the same time.

Now lets proceed to the recipe of veg spring roll –

Ingredients for making spring rolls -

  1. All-purpose flour -1 cup and 1 tbsp
  2. Wheat flour -3/4 cup
  3. Salt -1 tsp
  4. Water -1 cup
  5. All-purpose veg masala -2 cups
  6. Oil to deep fry

How I prepared this recipe –

  1. Measure the all-purpose flour, wheat flour and salt with the measuring cups.
  2. Transfer them in a mixing bowl.
  3. Mix with a fork.
  4. Now add water little by little and knead tight dough.
  5. Apply some oil and let it to rest for 10 minutes.
  6. Knead again to make it smooth.
  7. Now take some dry flour on the kitchen platform.
  8. Put your dough on it.
  9. Make it smooth and cut in three equal parts.
  10. Now take one part of the dough and roll it with a rolling pin. It should be rolled very thin then only it will be crispy.
  11. Now take a knife and cut its wedges to make it square or rectangle in shape. (The shape will depend on the size of your rolled dough).
  12. Now cut again in 6 small rectangular shaped sheets.
  13. Take them from the platform and keep aside. If the sheet is not that thin then you can roll again each small sheet also.
  14. Now take 1 Tbsp of all-purpose flour in a bowl and mix with 2 tbsp of water, to make a smooth paste.
  15. Now take one spring roll sheet on a plate.
  16. Put 1 tablespoon of veg masala on it.
  17. Fold the sheet from two parallel sides.
  18. Fold again from one more side. (You can see how I folded here in the picture below).
  19. Now apply some all-purpose flour paste on it with your finger.
  20. Cover it by folding again. (This paste will help the sheet to stick nicely and it will not be open while frying).
  21. Now make all the spring rolls in such way.
  22. Now heat enough oil in a kadai to deep fry the spring rolls.
  23. Now put some spring rolls in kadai to fry them, add according to the capacity of your kadai.
  24. Fry the spring rolls until golden and crisp.
  25. Now remove them onto a kitchen paper or tissue.
  26. Serve the spring rolls with sauce or garlic chutney.
