ALOO MASALA, HOW TO MAKE ALOO PALIYA RECIPE

A step by step recipe of aloo paliya –a dry recipe of potato paliya where boiled potato is cooked with chopped onion and spices.

This is a masala recipe, which can be used for masala dosa, samosa, karanji, kofta, chila and with puri.

You can use it in many ways as you want. This is a favorite recipe of mine. Even my daughter loves it too. I used to make it with suji ka chila and masala dosa specially. And when it is left I use the leftover to make sandwich or aloo ka parantha.

So enjoy this delicious recipe.

Ingredients to make aloo paliya –

  1. Boiled potato -6-7 medium
  2. Chopped onion -1 cup
  3. Chopped coriander leaves -2 tbsp
  4. Chopped green chilies -1 tbsp
  5. Red chili powder -1 tbsp
  6. Coriander powder -1 tsp
  7. Turmeric powder -1/2 tsp
  8. Oil -2 tbsp
  9. Cumin seeds -1/2 tsp
  10. Black mustard seeds -1/2 tsp
  11. Curry leaves chopped -1 tsp
  12. Salt to taste

Method for preparing aloo paliya –

  1. Heat oil in a pan.
  2. Now temper it with cumin seeds and black mustard seeds.
  3. Now add chopped green chilies in it.
  4. Now add the chopped curry leaves to it and mix.
  5. Now add the chopped onions to it.
  6. Mix well and cook.
  7. Cook until the onions are translucent.
  8. Now add the dry spices into it.
  9. Cook for a while and add mashed potato into it.
  10. Now add the chopped coriander and salt into it.
  11. Mix well and cooked for 2 minutes.
  12. Now your aloo masala is ready to use.
