A step by step recipe of bajre ki roti –flat bread made with pearl millet.

Bajre ki roti is a Rajasthani cuisine. As being a Rajasthani it cooked everyday in my house in the winter season. It is usually served with kadhi, or it is also go very well with curd and pani ki mirchi.

And just be delicious with jaggery and ghee.

We also make a very yummy dish with pearl millet flour which is called rabri/rabdi. Which we make in summer season. And bajre ki roti we make in winter season.

It is basically made by tapping method but if you have any problem in making the roti you can make it by plastic sheet method. To see how to make by plastic sheet, see the makke di roti recipe.

Ingredients of bajre ki roti –

  1. Bajre ka aata/pearl millet flour -3 cups
  2. Salt to taste
  3. Water as required

Method to prepare bajre ki roti –

  1. Take bajra flour in a mixing bowl.
  2. Add salt into it.
  3. Now add little by little water.
  4. And knead the dough.
  5. Now take a small portion of it. And flat it by using dry flour.
  6. I did it by tapping method.
  7. Make the roti as large as you can make.
  8. Now place it on hot tawa.
  9. Flip and cook.
  10. Now cook it on bare flame.
  11. Serve hot chapatti with kadhi/curd/jaggery.
