Paneer lababdaar recipe –paneer lababdaar is a popular paneer gravy dish which comes in Punjabi cuisine. Paneer is rich in protein and low fat.

This recipe of paneer lababdaar is a dish which has a taste of tangy tomato and richness of fresh cream cooked with lots of spices.

This recipe is a very mouth watering recipe as the name says here is the recipe –

Ingredients for the recipe of paneer lababdaar –

  1. Diced paneer(kata hua paneer) -500 gms
  2. Chopped capsicum -1/2 cup
  3. Green cardamom -1/2 tsp
  4. Cumin seeds -1/2 tsp
  5. Chopped onion -1 cup
  6. Tomato puree -3 cups
  7. Red chili powder -1 tsp
  8. Chopped green chilies -2 tsp
  9. Garlic paste -1 tsp
  10. Roasted sesame powder -1/2 tsp
  11. Milk -1/2 cup
  12. Fresh cream -2 tbsp
  13. Butter -1 tsp
  14. Kasoori methi(dry fenugreek leaves) -1 tsp
  15. Turmeric powder -3/4 tsp
  16. Chili flacks -1 tsp
  17. Garam masala -1 tsp
  18. Coriander powder -1/2 tsp
  19. Oil -2 tsp
  20. Salt to taste

For garnishing –

  1. Chopped coriander -1 tsp
  2. Chopped mint(pudina) -1 tsp
  3. Ginger cut in wedges -1/2 tsp

Method for preparing paneer lababdaar –

  1. Heat oil in a pan and temper it with cumin seeds and green cardamom.
  2. Now add green chilies and garlic paste and cook for ½ minute.
  3. Now add salt and onion, sauté it until the onion becomes transparent.
  4. Now add tomato puree, red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, green cardamom powder and cook it until the oil comes up.
  5. Now add chopped capsicum, milk and sesame powder and cook upto a boil.
  6. Now add paneer in it.
  7. Now add garam masala and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  8. Now add fresh cream and kasoori methi in it and cook at low flame for a while.
  9. Now switch off the flame and add melted butter on it.
  10. Now sprinkle the chili flacks on it and garnish with coriander, mint and ginger and serve hot with chapatti or rice.
