KHAKHRA, HOW TO MAKE KHAKHRA RECIPE

A step by step recipe of khakhra –crispy flat bread made with wheat flour and have a taste of cumin, red chili powder and salt.

Khakhra is a Gujarati cuisine. It’s a flat bread but very crispy that is hard to handle.

But the most amazing thing about khakhra is that, that it can be stored for 15-20 days. They are so light to have.

What will you need to make khakhra? -

  1. Wheat flour -3 cups
  2. Cumin seeds -1 tsp
  3. Red chili powder -1 tsp
  4. Oil -2 tbsp and as you require for cooking the khakhra
  5. Salt to taste

How to make khakhra? –

  1. Take the wheat flour in a mixing bowl.
  2. Add cumin seeds, red chili powder, oil and salt to it.
  3. Mix well. 
  4. Now add little by little water in it.
  5. And knead soft dough.
  6. Now make small ball of it.
  7. Take a ball and dust some dry flour on it.
  8. Make a flat chapatti. Roll it as thin as possible.
  9. Now for the perfect round shape use any cutter or any lid of a dabba.
  10. Make it in round shape.
  11. Make all the khakhra in the same way.
  12. Place them on a paper to become quite dry.
  13. Now heat a tawa.
  14. Place a khakhra on it.
  15. Flip it and remove it from the tawa.
  16. They are semi cooked khakhra now.
  17. Cook all the khakhra in the same way and let them to cool.
  18. Now again place them on the hot tawa.
  19. Apply some oil and cook them.
  20. Pressure it with a parantha pressure to make crispy.
  21. Let them to cool and store in an air tight container.
