A step by step recipe of aloo methi matar curry –a delicious and simple to make curry made with potato, fenugreek leaves and green peas.

This is a very simple recipe but very healthy. Fenugreek is very nutritious. Some of its benefits are –

  1. This leaf is very beneficial for liver functions and dyspepsia.
  2. Lowers blood cholesterol.
  3. Reduces risk of heart disease.
  4. Controls blood sugar level.
  5. Increases breast milk production of lactating mother.
  6. Helps to reduce menstrual discomfort.

What you need to make aloo methi matar curry?

  1. Chopped potato -2 cups
  2. Chopped fenugreek leaves -3 cups
  3. Peas -1 cup
  4. Crushed garlic-chili paste -1 tbsp
  5. Chopped spring onions -1/2 cup
  6. Malai -2 tbsp
  7. Red chili powder -1 tbsp
  8. Turmeric powder -1/2 tsp
  9. Coriander powder -1 tbsp
  10. Salt to taste
  11. Oil -2 tbsp
  12. Cumin seeds -1 tsp

How to make this curry? –

  1. Heat oil in a pan.
  2. Add cumin seeds in it.
  3. Add the chili-garlic paste in it. And sauté.
  4. Add the chopped potatoes in it.
  5. Add turmeric powder and salt to it.
  6. Mix and cook.
  7. When potatoes are half cooked add fenugreek in it.
  8. Now add chopped spring onions.
  9. Also add the peas and mix.
  10. Cook well.
  11. Now add red chili powder and coriander powder into it.
  12. Mix well and add 1 cup of water.
  13. Cook until the gravy is thick.
  14. Now add malai into it.
  15. Mix well and cook for another two minutes.
  16. Serve hot with chappati or puri.
