ONION AND TOMATO APPAM RECIPE, how to make suji appe or paddu recipe

A step by step recipe of onion and tomato appam –a delicious recipe of suji appe, has a nice taste of onion and tomato.

Appe or appam is a very easy and quick recipe of suji. In my kitchen I use suji in very different varieties of dishes. It is very light to digest.

Here I didn’t show the picture of how I prepared this batter. To see that you can check out my recipes of suji ka chila or rave set dosa.

Ingredients for onion and tomato appam –

  1. Semolina/rava/suji -2 cups
  2. Curd/butter milk/chas -2 and ½ cup
  3. Salt to taste
  4. Chopped onion -3 tbsp
  5. Chopped tomato -2 tbsp
  6. Black mustard seeds -1/2 tsp
  7. Oil as required

Method to prepare onion and tomato appam –

  1. Take the semolina in a mixing bowl.
  2. Beat the curd to make it smooth.
  3. Mix the curd in semolina.
  4. Also add some salt and mix.
  5. Now leave the batter to rest for 30 minutes.
  6. Now add the chopped onion and tomato in it.
  7. Mix well to equalize.
  8. Now heat the appam maker on gas stove.
  9. Pour little oil in each section of the appam maker.
  10. Now crackle some mustard seeds in each section.
  11. Now pour the batter with a spoon in the appam maker. But don’t fill them completely.
  12. Cook for 3 minutes.
  13. Now flip them to cook from other side.
  14. Now flip again to make it crispy.
  15. Remove from the appam maker and serve hot with tomato ketchup.

Step by step recipe with pictures –
