BEETROOT AND CHANE KI SABJI RECIPE, how to make beetroot and bengal gram bhaji recipe

Main ingredients –beetroot and bengal grams

Beetroot and chane ki sabji recipe – a nice and healthy recipe of beetroot and bengal grams, cooked in south Indian style with lots of spices.

Ingredients for beetroot and chane ki sabji –

  1. Beetroot -1
  2. Soaked and boiled in saline water bengal grams/chana -1 cup
  3. Chopped onions -1/2 cup
  4. Chopped green chilies -1 tbsp
  5. Salt to taste
  6. Oil -2 tbsp
  7. Black mustard seeds -1 tsp
  8. Curry leaves -4-5

Ingredients to make a paste –

  1. Fresh grated coconut -3 tbsp
  2. Garlic cloves -7-8
  3. Ginger -1 small piece
  4. Bay leaves -3
  5. Cumin seeds -1 tsp
  6. Cloves/long -2-3
  7. Black pepper seeds -3-4
  8. Lemon juice -1 tbsp
  9. Red chili powder -1 tsp
  10. Turmeric powder -1/2 tsp

Method to prepare beetroot and chane ki sabji –

  1. Chop the beetroot in small cubes and slightly boil them in salted water. (don’t cook them completely only half cook).
  2. Grind all the ingredients to make a paste in a grinder.
  3.  Heat oil in a pan.
  4. Temper it with black mustard seeds and curry leaves.
  5. Add the chopped onions and chilies into it.
  6. Sauté them until onions are translucent.
  7. Now add the ground paste in it and cook until the oil leaves the pan.
  8. Now add the beetroot and bengal grams and mix well.
  9. Season it with salt and add 1 cup of water into it to give it a nice consistency.
  10. Cook for another 5 minutes and switch off the flame.
  11. Serve hot with rice or chapatti.
