A step by step recipe of moong dal parantha –a very crispy parantha of moong dal. This parantha can also be known as moong dal thepla. Thepla is a very tasty form of parantha, where we add all the ingredients in dry flour only. Here also I have added all the ingredients in dry flour and then knead the dough.

Ingredients for moong dal parantha –

  1. Soaked moong dal -1 cup
  2. Wheat flour -2 cups
  3. Garlic-green chili paste -2 tbsp
  4. Red chili powder -1 tbsp
  5. Salt to taste
  6. Oil for shallow frying
  7. Green chutney for serving

Method to prepare moong dal parantha –

  1. Soak the husked moong dal for 2 hour in water.
  2. Now take 2 cups of wheat flour in a mixing bowl.
  3. Add the soaked moong dal in it.
  4. Now add the crushed green chili-garlic paste.
  5. Add red chili powder and salt to it.
  6. Now knead a dough with the help of water.
  7. Now take a small portion of dough and make a peda with it. Dust some dry wheat flour so that doesn’t stick while rolling.
  8. Now roll it with a rolling pin.
  9. Heat a tawa and place the parantha on it.
  10. Flip it and apply some oil on it.
  11. Now flip again and apply the oil.
  12. Make the parantha crispy and golden.
  13. Serve hot with hare dhaniya ki chutney and aamras.
