A step by step recipe of nariyal chutney – very simple, easy to make and very delicious recipe of coconut. Loved by everyone. This is a mixture of fresh coconut, mint, ground nut, garlic, green chilies and salt.

Being a Rajasthani come south Indian I just love nariyal chutney. This is a simple recipe to make. But its really very tasty.

My husband loves this chutney with a tadka of black mustard and curry leaves. Which I will post very soon.

This chutney can be served with masala dosa, rava idli or simple idli, bonda, mendu vada or any other south Indian dishes. People in south India serve this nariyal chutney with every meal I think.

But personally if you ask to me I can have it with roti, rice or puri anytime. I just love this chutney. It reminds me my old days in Bangaluru. My mom used to make this chutney with pulav and I used to enjoy it with my brother and sister. But now after marriage they are still in Bangaluru and I have moved to Jaipur.

 But never mind I am happy with my family. And enjoying this chutney in rajasthan with my in laws and my kids and husband.

Ingredients for nariyal chutney –

  1. Fresh coconut -1
  2. Mint leaves -2 cups
  3. Green chilies -4-5
  4. Ground nuts -1/2 cup
  5. Garlic -7-8 cloves
  6. Salt to taste

Method to make this chutney –

  1. Chop the coconut in small pieces.
  2. Take all the ingredients together.
  3. Put them in a mixer jar.
  4. Grind it until it becomes a smooth paste.
  5. And its ready to be served.
