DRY COCONUT CHUTNEY, HOW TO MAKE COCONUT CHUTNEY WITH DRY COCONUT RECIPE
Preparation time -15 minutes for other ingredients and 7-8 hrs for the coconut.

A step by step recipe of dry coconut chutney –a simple but tasty and flavorful side dish made with dry coconut, peanuts, and garlic, coriander and green chilies.
This is simply amazing recipe of dry coconut. In State like Rajasthan, it is very difficult to find fresh coconut every time when you desire to make the coconut chutney. So it is a very tasty solution for the people who do not get the fresh coconut each tome.
As a Rajasthani even I don’t get it every time to make the coconut chutney.
Whenever you wish to make the chutney with dry coconut then soak the coconut in hot water for 7-8 hrs. By soaking it in hot water it will reduce the raw smell of the coconut oil.
I have learnt this recipe from my sister-in-law Supriya di. She also cooks great. Some of my recipe belongs to her.

Ingredients of dry coconut chutney –
- Dry coconut -1/2
- Peanuts -1/2 cup
- Chopped coriander leaves -1 cup
- Chopped green chilies -2 tbsp
- Garlic -6-7 cloves
- Salt to taste
Ingredients for temper -
- Oil 2 tsp
- Black mustard seeds -1/2 tsp
- Curry leaves -5-6
How to make the recipe –
- Soak the dry coconut for 6-7 hrs in hot water and then chop of grate it.
- Take all the ingredients of coconut chutney and grind them with little water in a grinder to a smooth paste.
- Now heat oil in a small pan and temper it with black mustard and curry leaves.
- Pour this oil on your chutney and serve.
Step by step recipe with pictures –
Take a dry coconut. I have taken a half coconut which we usually call khopra in Rajasthani.
Put the coconut in 1 cup of water and heat it for 3-4 minutes.
Now leave the coconut in this hot water for about 6-7 hrs.
It will rise after 6-7 hrs and will become like a fresh coconut.
Now grate it with a grater. You may also chop it. I did both the techniques here.
Gather all the ingredients of coconut chutney.
Now fill them in a grinder jar with salt and little water.
And grind it to a smooth paste.
Now heat oil in a small pan
and temper it with black mustard
and curry leaves.
Pour this oil on your chutney and serve.
