How to make Rajasthani mangod recipe –a dry vadi recipe which can be preserved for 7-8 months and used to make curry.

This is very famous and known recipe of Rajasthan which is called as mangod.

Mangod or mangodi is made up of moong dal, some people also like to make it with moth dal.

Here which I have made is a moong dal mangodi. It is very simple to make and it lasts for about 6-7 months. I have made it very simple just with red chili powder and salt, but you may also add garlic, green chilies or any other spices you want.

Ingredients for mangod

  1. Moong dal -1 kg
  2. Red chili powder -2 tbsp
  3. Salt to taste

How to make it

  1. Soak the lentils for about 3-4 hrs.
  2. Grind it with red chili powder.
  3. Mix salt in it and make mangodi on a cloth.
  4. You can make it with your hand or in a plastic cone.
  5. Dry them completely under sunlight. And preserve in an air tight container.
