METHI MANGOD CURRY, Recipe Of How To Make A Curry Of Fresh Fenugreek Leaves and Mangod

A step by step recipe of methi mangodi –very simple, very healthy yet very delicious recipe of fresh fenugreek leaves and Rajasthani mangod.

Mangodi or mangod is a very known dish in Rajasthan. Which is made up of moong dal or moth dal.

This is a curry recipe, which goes very well with roti or simple parantha.

I like this dish when my mother-in-law cook it. She makes delicious mangodi curry. Whether it is simple garlic mangodi or sogari mangodi or all pyaj mangodi. All the dishes are delicious.

Ingredients for methi mangodi

  1. Rajasthani mangod -1 cup
  2. Fresh fenugreek leaves -2 cups
  3. Red chili powder -1 tsp
  4. Coriander powder -1 and ½ tsp
  5. Turmeric powder -1/2 tsp
  6. Oil -1 tbsp
  7. Cumin seeds -1 tsp
  8. Salt to taste

How to make it –

  1. Take the mangod on the kitchen platform.
  2. Now crush them with a pestle.
  3. Now heat oil in a pressure cooker pan.
  4. Temper it with cumin seeds.
  5. Now add crushed mangodi in it and roast for 3-4 seconds.
  6. Now add the fenugreek leaves in it.
  7. Add 1 cup of water.
  8. Now add the spices into it such as red chili powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and salt.
  9. Mix well and pressure cook it for about 2 whistles.
  10. Open the lid and smash a little with a ladle.
  11. Serve hot with chapatti.
