Rajma chawal with chana sprouts recipe – masala rice cooked with kidney beans and chana sprouts with tangy tomatoes and onion.

It’s a new version of rajma chawal, people who love to it rajma chawal will definitely gonna love this dish. Its ansy and quick recipe of rice and you can also make this recipe with leftover rice.

Ingredients for rajma chawal with chana sprouts –

  1. Boiled rice -4 cups
  2. Boiled kidney beans(rajma) -1 and ½ cup
  3. Boiled chana sprouts -1 cup
  4. Chopped onion -2 cups
  5. Chopped tomato -2 cups
  6. Ginger-garlic-green chili paste -2 tbsp
  7. Red chili powder -1 tbsp
  8. Turmeric powder -1 tsp
  9. Coriander powder -1 tbsp
  10. Chole masala/garam masala -1 tbsp
  11. Ghee -2 tbsp
  12. Salt to taste
  13. Chopped coriander for garnishing

Ingredients to temper –

  1. Cumin seeds -1 tsp
  2. Clove -4
  3. Black pepper seeds -7-8
  4. Black mustard seeds -1/2 tsp
  5. Bay leaf/tej patta -3
  6. Green cardamom -4

Method to prepare rajma chawal with chana sprouts –

  1. Heat ghee in a pan and temper it with cumin, clove, black pepper, mustard, tej patta and green cardamom for half minute.
  2. Now add chopped onion and ginger-garlic-green chili paste and cook until the onion becomes brown.
  3. Now add tomato in it and mix it well.
  4. After tomato, add red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, chole masala and salt to it. Mix it well and cook until the ghee leaves the pan.
  5. Now add boiled rajma and chana sprouts to it and mix.
  6. Now add boiled rice and salt in the pan and mix it well.
  7. Now switch off the flame add chopped coriander into it. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with vegetable raita and papad.

Notes –

  1. You can add any sprouts and vegetables in this recipe to make it healthier.
  2. This recipe, you can also make with leftover rice or rajma.
