Ingredients

  1. Gram flour(besan) -2 cup
  2. Crushed chcholiya(chick peas) -1/2 cup
  3. Green chili(finely chopped) -2 tsps
  4. Oil as required
  5. Asafoetida(hing) -1/4 tsp
  6. Turmeric powder -1 tsp
  7. Red chili powder -1 tsp
  8. Cumin powder -1 tsp
  9. Coriander powder -1 tsp
  10. Carom seeds(ajwain) -1/4 tsp
  11. Dry whole red chili -2
  12. Curd -1 cup
  13. Ginger paste -1 tsp
  14. Black pepper -1/4 tsp
  15. Garam masala powder -1 tsp
  16. Salt to taste

Method

  1. Take the gram flour in a bowl and add 3 tsp oil , half the quantity of all the powdered spices , half asafetida and carom seeds
  2. Now add salt and make dough with the help of water.
  3. Take another pan and add salt and green chili in chcholiya and dry roast it until the chcholiya become completely dry.
  4. Now make small ladoo of the gram flour dough and fill the stuffing in it.
  5. After making all the ladoos cook them in a steamer for 20 minutes.
  6. Now heat 2 tsp oil in a pan and the remaining asafoetida , cumin seeds ,dry red chili, black pepper seeds and temper them.
  7. Now add curd and stir it continuously until it comes to a boil.
  8. Now add the remaining powdered spices in it.
  9. Add ginger and cook it until the oil comes up.
  10. Add water and gatta and cook them up to a boil.
  11. Now switch off the flame and garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot.
