Rava idli recipe –rava mixed with curd and cooked in steamer.

 Almost all of us know how to make rava idli, since south Indian food has became so popular in India now a days. Rava idlis are very easy to make and easy to digest as well, so this idli is good for all generations for their health. Ingredients for rava idli –

  1. Rava/suji/semolina -3 cups
  2. Curd or butter milk -5 cups
  3. Salt to taste
  4. Baking soda -1 tbsp
  5. Eno salt -1 pouch or 1 tbsp
  6. Oil -2 tbsp
  7. Black mustard seeds -1 tsp
  8. Curry leaves -7-8

Method to prepare rava idli –

  1. Mix rava, curd, salt and baking soda in a large bowl and allow it to rest for 4-5 hrs.
  2. Now after 4-5 hrs, heat oil in a pan and temper it with black mustard and curry leaves and add this mixture to the rava batter.
  3. Now add the eno salt in the rava batter and mix well.
  4. Now Greece the idli maker with oil and fill the batter in it.
  5. Now cook it in steam for about 20-25 minutes.
  6. Serve hot these idlies with sambhar and coconut chutney.
