CHURMA RECIPE – a sweet dish made with wheat flour, sugar and lots of desi ghee.

It’s an authentic Rajasthani cuisine, which is also known as with the combination of bati and daal as “daal, bati and churma”. Churma is a sweet dish where as bati is salted, so this combination goes very well together. Churma is also a good combination with kheer (payasam).

In RAJASTHAN this churma is a very necessary dish to serve on festivals, our festivals or any other celebrations are incomplete without this churma.

So lets proceed to the step by step recipe of Rajasthani churma.

Ingredients for churma –

  1. Wheat flour -2 cups
  2. Ghee -1 cup
  3. Powdered sugar -1 cup
  4. Cardamom powder -1 tbsp

Method to prepare churma –

  1. Add 1 tbsp ghee in wheat flour and knead dough with the help of water. The dough should be roughly kneaded.
  2. Now take a small piece of kneaded dough and place it on your palm and press it with your finger to give it a shape. These are called as muthiya in Rajasthani.
  3. Now heat ghee in a kadai and fry the muthiya till they are golden brown in color.
  4. Now let them cool.
  5. Now grind the muthiya in a grinder to make the churma.
  6. Now mix the sugar, cardamom powder and remaining ghee in the churma and mix well.
  7. Serve this churma with daal or kheer.
