CHASANI KE CHAWAL RECIPE –boiled rice mixed with sugar syrup (chasani).

This recipe is also called as meetha bhaat at some places of India, which is sweet dish made with rice and sugar syrup.

Ingredients for The Chasni ke Chawal –

  1. Sugar -1/2 cup
  2. Cooked long grained rice -3 cups
  3. Ghee -2 tbsp
  4.  Cloves (laung / lavang) -5-6
  5. Cardamoms -6-7
  6. Yellow food color –1/4 tsp
  7. Cashews and almonds for garnishing

Method for the chasni ke chawal –

  1. Combine the sugar and ½ cup of water and yellow food color in a deep bowl, mix well and make a syrup of one string consistency. Keep aside.
  2.  Heat the ghee in a broad non-stick pan, add the cloves and cardamom and sauté on a medium flame for a few seconds.
  3.  Add the cooked rice, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 1 to 2 minutes, while stirring continuously.
  4.  Add the sugar syrup, mix well and cook on a medium flame for another 4 to 5 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
  5. Garnish it with almonds and cashews and serve hot with mogar.
