Sweet boondi recipe –a step by step dish made with gram flour and sugar syrup.

Sweet boondi,a very easy and quick way to make these delicious boondi. Serve them hot to your guest and they will surely relish it.

This sweet boondi I have made first time and surprisingly it was yummmm, my husband just loved it.

I don’t make sweets much, but this time I took the responsibility to make a sweet dish I choose this and I succeed. I have made 2 colored boondi which are yellow and green.

Lets see the step by step recipe of sweet boondi ---

Ingredients for sweet boondi –

  1. Gram flour -2 cups
  2. Water -1 cup (adjust accordingly)
  3. Yellow food color –a pinch
  4. Green food color –a pinch
  5. Ghee for frying

For sugar syrup -

  1. Sugar -1 and1/2 cup
  2. Water -1 cup
  3. Rose flower petals –7-8

Method for making sweet boondi –

  1. Take gram flour in a sifter and sieve it. Add in water and mix to a smooth batter.
  2. Add in water slowly and make it into a smooth batter.
  3. Now take some batter in another bowl and mix green color to it and to another add yellow color. Mix well. The batter should be little thick.
  4.  Make the batter perfectly then only you will get round boondi.
  5. Now heat ghee for deep frying.
  6. Now take a perforated ladle. Hold it over ghee. Pour a ladleful of batter over the ladle and spread it out. The boondis will fall drop by drop.
  7. Fry the boondi till they are little crispy. Drain them and set aside.
  8. Take sugar and water in a pan, mix well so it is melted. Bring it to a boil and cook till it attain a single string stage. When you take the spoon from the syrup and see, the last drop falling from the syrup form a single string like consistency.
  9. At this point, take it off the heat and add rose petels into it.
  10. Add boondis to this syrup and mix well.
  11. Your sweet boodi is ready to eat. Serve hot.
