Dessert made for diwali, dassehra, bhai dooj.

A step by step recipe of suji ke laddoo –sweet laddoo made with semolina, khoya, sugar syrup and ghee.

This is a delicious recipe made with semolina. The ingredients are used in equal proportion to make these laddoo. You can make these laddoos very easily at home to serve your guests.

Suji ke laddoo is a traditional Maharashtrian sweet. This is a popular laddoo prepared almost in every household for all the festivals. Suji ke laddoo is a simple and easy recipe but still exotic.

 

Ingredients for suji ke laddoo –

  1. Semolina -1 cup
  2. Khoya/mawa -1 cup
  3. Sugar -1 cup
  4. Ghee -1 cup
  5. Blanched nuts(almonds, cashews) -1 cup
  6. Cardamom powder -2 tbsp

Method to prepare suji ke laddoo –

  1. Heat ghee in a kadai and add suji/semolina into it.
  2. Mix it well and cook.
  3. Keep stirring and cooking until semolina becomes brown and leaves the ghee.
  4. Now rub the khoya with your fingers to make it smooth.
  5. Now add the khoya in roasted semolina.
  6. Mix well and cook for 5-10 minutes.
  7. Semolina and khoya should be mixed completely with each other.
  8. Now remove this mixture from the kadai.
  9. Now heat ½ cup of water in the same kadai and add sugar into it and make sugar syrup.
  10. Make the sugar syrup of 2 strings.
  11. Now let it to be cool (slightly warm) and add the semolina mixture, nuts and cardamom powder into it.
  12. Now make the laddoos with it.
  13. Serve however you like.
