Kalakand recipe with step by step photos – kalakand made with paneer and condensed milk.

This recipe is one of my husband’s favorite sweet dish, he just love kalakand that is why I wanted to make the kalakand in an easy way to make. And believe me this recipe is just delicious to have.                                

Kalakand is a rich milk cake. One of the popular Indian sweets. The traditional way of making kalakand is a long one and takes some time.

This kalakand is a jhatpat (quick) recipe. Only two ingredients are required sweetened condensed milk and paneer or chenna. Stir for 15 minutes. Allow setting the kalakand for a couple of hours and you have the kalakand ready.

in the kalakand, you can add dry fruits as well flavorings of your choice. i usually add cardamom powder, pistachio and almonds.

Ingredients for kalakand –

  1. Paneer -500 gms
  2. Condensed milk -400 gm
  3. Sugar -1 tbsp(as par your choice)
  4. Cardamom powder -1 tbsp
  5. Pistachio flacks -1 tbsp
  6. Almond flacks -1 tbsp

Method to prepare kalakand –

  1. Grate the paneer in a bowl or plate.
  2. Now take the condensed milk in a thick bottom pan.
  3. And add the grated paneer in it.
  4. Mix well and cook.
  5. Add some sugar if required to you(as par your taste of sweetness). I have added 1 tbsp of sugar here.
  6. Cook it until it become little thick.
  7. Now add the cardamom powder in it. And mix.
  8. Now Greece a plate or pan with ghee or oil.
  9. When the mixture gets thickened well and looks like one mass, switch off the flame.
  10. Pour the entire mixture into the prepared pan/thali.
  11. Shake the pan gently so that the mixture spreads evenly.
  12. Sprinkle the dry fruit flacks on it.
  13. Gently press the dry fruits with a spoon. Cover and allow the kalakand to become warm at the room temperature, then keep it in the fridge for a couple of hrs to set.
  14. Serve the kalakand as a sweet or as a dessert.
