A step by step by step recipe of dahi bhalle –dahi bhalle is a perfect combination of urad daal ke vade, curd, saunth chutney and green chutney.

It’s just a mouth watering recipe of curd and vada.

Infect whenever we used to go to any party or any wedding ceremony, I found this dahi bhalla and I never tasted it. But my mother-in-law always used to enjoy it. So I have made this dahi bhalla recipe especially for her, and when I ate it believe me it’s just delicious. I was laughing on myself that why I missed to have it before.

So don’t make yourself fool like I did and just make it and grab it.

I had made it with a perfect combination of saunth chutney and green chutney.

So lets proceed to the recipe.

Ingredients for dahi bhalle –

  1. Urad dal/split and husked black lentils -1 cup
  2. Curd -1 cup
  3. Saunth chutney -2 tbsp or as par your taste
  4. Green chutney -2 tbsp or as par your taste
  5. Roasted cumin powder -1 tbsp
  6. Red chili powder -1 tsp
  7. Crushed black pepper -1/2 tsp
  8. Crushed coriander seeds -1/2 tsp
  9. Salt to taste
  10. Water -3 cups

Method to prepare dahi bhalle –

  1. Soak the urad dal for 2 hrs.
  2. Now bland it in blander and make a paste of it.
  3. Now add crushed coriander seeds, black pepper and salt to it.
  4. Mix it well for about 5-10 minutes so that the mixture becomes slightly floppy.
  5. Now heat oil in a kadhai and make vada of it (it will be better if you will do it by your hand not with any spoon or anything).
  6.  When these vadas gets cooked they will start to come up to the oil.
  7. Now take water in a bowl and put these vadas into it for 15-20 minutes.
  8. Now take out these vadas and rinse the excess water from them. You will see that the color of the vadas is changed now.
  9. Now place some vadas in serving dish.
  10. Add curd, green chutney, saunth chutney, sprinkle some cumin powder, red chili powder and salt.
  11. And serve these dahi bhalle on your each and every occasion of happiness.
