A step by step recipe of besan ki chakki –a mouth watering dessert recipe made with just three simple ingredients –besan/gram flour, khoya and sugar.

This is a Rajasthani cuisine dessert but now days it is famous everywhere in India.

We always make this chakki on the occasion of Holi and Diwali. But you can make it any time you want.

It has a soft texture and so smooth that it melts in mouth and gives you heavenly feeling. Must try it.

Ingredients for besan ki chakki –

  1. Gram flour/besan -1 cup
  2. Khoya(grated) -1 and ½ cup
  3. Sugar -1 and ½ cup
  4. Yellow food color –a pinch
  5. Ghee -1 cup
  6. Almond and pistachio flacks for garnishing

Method of preparing besan ki chakki –

  1. Heat a thick bottom pan and add ghee in it.
  2. Now add besan into it and mix.
  3. When the gram flour is half cooked (becomes light brown) add khoya in it.
  4. Mix and cook until the color of khoya is also mix with the besan. And remove it from the kadai.
  5. Now in the same kadhai take half cup of water.
  6. And add sugar in it.
  7. Mix it and make syrup upto two strings.
  8. Mix the food color in a bowl with just little bit of water.
  9. And add this in the sugar syrup.
  10. Now let it to be warm, and then add the besan mixture in it. Put this in a tray to make chakki.
  11. Garnish it with almond flacks and pistachio flacks.
  12. Let it to be cool so that you can easily cut the chakki of it.
