A step by step recipe of leftover dal parantha –a flatten Indian bread made with wheat flour and leftover dal.

Many of you face the same problem like me, that what to do with this leftover dal sitting in the fridge. And no one is ready to have it without any twist in it. So I have made this recipe to use my leftover dal.

In my home we never waste anything, so on the same track I don’t waste this dal too and cooked a new recipe with it. And believe me it’s a wonderful recipe to have.

Believe me it’s the most simplest and tastiest breakfast in the morning. A very basic recipe that rich in protein and healthy too. A perfect lunch box recipe – even kids love these in their lunch boxes.

Ingredients for leftover dal parantha –

  1. Wheat flour -3 cups
  2. Leftover dal – 2 cups
  3. Chopped onions -1 cup
  4. Crushed garlic-green chili paste -2 tbsp
  5. Chopped coriander -1 cup
  6. Red chili powder -1 tbsp
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Oil for shallow frying

Method of preparing leftover dal parantha –

  1. Take the flour in a large mixing bowl or a flatten dish to mix all the ingredients.
  2. Now add chopped onions, crushed garlic-chilli paste and chopped coriander in it.
  3. Now add the red chili powder and salt to it.
  4. Mix all the ingredients together.
  5. Now add the leftover dal (I have added here the mix dal fry) you can add which ever you have.
  6. Now mix all the ingredients and knead a dough (add water if needed).
  7. Now take a small piece of dough and round it and press under your palm, and cover it with some dry flour.
  8. Roll it with a rolling pin and make the parantha.
  9. Now heat a tawa and place the parantha on it.
  10. Now flip it and spread some oil or ghee on it.
  11. Flip it and cook from both the sides.
  12. Cook it until crispy.
  13. Serve this hot parantha with achar and rayta.
